Cry Me A River, Build A Bridge, Get Over It

Cry me a river, build a bridge, get over it!  This is a sign which a family member brought over to our office last Christmas.  We have it up in our office beside the frames with some images of bridges we have built.  It seemed appropriate!  Today marks the beginning of building another bridge.  At Spectrum, we get pretty excited about this phase in the bridge project.  All of the hard work of design, measuring and planning starts taking form.  It's just the beginning, but here are a few photos of this Nanton Golf Course bridge for Hole #18.

Calgary Elks Bridge on Hole #4

It's done!  In just over 3 months, Spectrum Engineering has designed, built and installed this beautiful bridge on Hole #4 at Calgary Elks Lodge and Golf Course.  Great care was taken to come up a plan that would cause very little damage to the surrounding landscape.  First a truss system was set over the river, then the bridge was pieced together and pushed across on wheels.  Finally the truss was removed and everything bolted firmly into place.  The staff at Calgary Elks were outstanding, providing whatever support was needed to get the job done.

Golf Course and Pedestrian Bridge Gallary

Spectrum Engineering has designed, built and installed several pedestrian bridges for communities in Southern Manitoba. The town of La Salle, Manitoba has a pedestrian bridge crossing the La Salle River which connects the River Ridge Housing Development to the main part of town.  Winkler Bible Camp has installed a bridge across the lake development and The Town of Carman has installed a pedestrian bridge crossing the Boyne River which connects walking trails within the town. Spectrum Engineering has also designed and built the bridges for Bridges Golf Club in Starbuck, Manitoba and the pedestrian bridges linking Breezy Bend Golf Course to the housing development.  The most recent bridges have been installed at golf courses in Alberta.  One at Calgary Elks Golf Course and two were installed in 2016 at Nanton Golf Club.

Pedestrian Bridge in Carman, MB

Spectrum Engineering had the privilege of designing, fabricating and installing this gorgeous pedestrian bridge for the Town of Carman, Manitoba.  Away from traffic and totally surrounded by nature, this bridge is a part of a pathway that follows the meandering Boyne River.
